SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – MINING (SPM)
Education:
S1 (BS) Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university, overseas degree would be an advantage. Experience
Applicants should have:
Minimum 8 years experience in mining industries, preferably with mining contractors.
First class English skills, in particular written English must be of a very high standard.
Responsibilities:
Take particular responsibility to ensure that Company policy for quality, safety and environment is adhered to.
Manage all the Company`s dealings with the Client at site and maintain a professional and proactive relationship with the Client at all times.
After award review all bid documentation, bid estimates and become familiar with the Contract and all procedures, mine plans and milestones required under the Contract.
Develop a project strategy with respect to the use of the Company`s Business Mining System which will consist of a Master Plan and forecast of work against that Plan and a project schedule that coordinates all activities and resources required to complete the Contract.
Liaise with the Asset Manager for all equipment to be mobilized to the Project location and maintain a fleet configuration that will meet or exceed production targets.
Prepare a project budget on the basis of the Project estimate using corporate guidelines and implement the Company cost control system. Take personal responsibility and accountability for cash flow, receivables and return on capital of the Project.
Prepare regular and timely reports on project progress as required by the Client under the Contract and by the Company using Company standards.
Monitor all changes to the Contract scope of works and prepare appropriate contractual responses and claims and negotiate to settlement.
Represent the Company in all meetings and matters pertaining to the Contract with respect to the Client and any third party.
Arrange for all progress claims and documentation required under the Contract to be prepared in a timely and professional manner.
